Baby Breonna came to my newborn and baby photography studio to have her updated sitter session done. At 10 months old, this sweet little girl has grown into the cutest little sweet heart ever! With her chubby little smiley face, those cheeks are too cute not to squeeze. She did such a great job of modelling for the camera, like a total natural at it.

The sitter age photo session is always a fun one. The babies have these big beautiful shiny eyes, and they usually just love to sit and smile for the camera. I really enjoy seeing my newborn baby clients come back for their sitter session, because I love seeing how much they have changed over the months. The next best age after sitter is the 1st birthday session, which we usually combine with clean shots like these of Breonna, and also with a cake smash right at the end.

By the time they’re 10 months old, babies are usually able to crawl on their hands and knees. She might try to take steps when held in a walking position. Your baby’s fingers are becoming more agile. She may be able to pick up small objects with her thumb and finger grasp without having to rest her wrist on a solid surface.

Baby is just beginning to understand many simple words, so it’s more important than ever to keep talking to her. Give her a head start on good speech patterns by repeating her words back to her using adult language. If she asks for a “baubau,” for example, gently reinforce the correct pronunciation by asking, “Do you want a drink?” At this stage of the game it’s best to try to avoid the tendency to use baby talk — it’s fun, but hearing the right words is better for your baby’s development.
